Mikhail Fridman

Chairman, Supervisory Board of Alfa Group Consortium

Mikhail Fridman graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys. Mr. Fridman began his professional activities as product engineer at the Electrostal factory, where he worked from 1986 to 1988. During that same period, he began his entrepreneurial career. Alfa Ekho, established in 1988 with Mr. Fridman's participation, over the course of only a few years grew into one of the most powerful financial-industrial groups in Russia—Alfa Group Consortium.

Since 1991, chairman of the Board of Directors of commercial bank Alfa-Bank. Since 1996, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Alfa Group Consortium and a member of the Board of Directors of SIDANKO. In 2003 Mikhail Fridman played a key role in forming the amalgamated company TNK-BP, and since that time he has been chairman of TNK-BP's Board of Directors.

Since June 2009 Mr. Fridman has been interim CEO at TNK-BP. In addition to his posts at TNK-BP, Mikhail Fridman is chairman of the Supervisory Board of Alfa Group and a member of the Board of Directors of VimpelCom and the Supervisory Board of Pyaterochka Holding N.V.
